  • Do not mix chargers or parts Never use an unapproved charger, modified battery, or mismatched replacement parts.
  • Do not cover while charging Keep the charger and battery uncovered so heat can escape properly.
  • Do not charge near flammables Keep away from paper, cardboard, curtains, fabrics, fuel and aerosols.
  • Do not attempt DIY battery repairs Never open, alter, rebuild or repair a lithium-ion battery yourself.

Everyday battery care

Simple care helps battery performance, lifespan and day-to-day peace of mind.

🌡️

Avoid temperature extremes

Very hot or very cold conditions can affect battery performance. Let the battery return to room temperature before charging.

💧

Keep it dry

Do not charge a wet battery. If it has been exposed to heavy rain or moisture, dry it fully before use or charging.

🧼

Keep connections clean

Make sure battery terminals and charging ports stay clean and free from dirt, debris and corrosion.

📆

Store with some charge

If storing for a longer period, avoid leaving the battery fully empty for extended periods. Check it periodically.

🔥

If something does not feel right, stop immediately

If your battery becomes unusually hot, starts swelling, leaks, smells strange, makes popping or hissing sounds, or shows smoke, stop using it straight away. Move away, keep others clear, and seek help. Do not keep charging it.

What to do in an emergency

Keep calm and protect people first.

1

Get out

Leave the area immediately if there is smoke, fire or signs of thermal runaway.

2

Stay out

Do not go back in and do not try to deal with a serious battery fire yourself.

3

Call 999

Tell the fire service it involves an e-bike or lithium-ion battery so they can respond appropriately.
